Review of “The Seven Brothers of Elko” Series (Written by Raeann Blake)

Book Covers for the Seven Brothers of Elko - Jake, Davis, Michael, Tommy, Casey, Bo (Lonnie is still in the works).

This romance series can be read as stand-alone books or as a series. When subsequent books refer to previous books, which is rare, Raeann gives enough information so you don't lose the storyline but not so much that she's repeating chunks of previous books in the series. At most, it might be a few summarizing sentences.

These books are well worth the read. Each book contains each brother's story but incorporates your favorite characters from previous books. Every book has plenty of romance and drama mixed in as the story progresses. Raeann's books are longer than the average romance, which may not be to the liking of some, but it is what made me choose her books in the first place – books always end too soon!

All books in this series have plenty of romance scenes, but not so many so as to make it boring. Raeann skips over the chapters of overt flirting found in many romance novels and gets right to the steamy stuff.

Jake

Jake and Brinley meet when Tommy, Brinley's late brother's best friend and self-appointed "brother," forces her to take time off from work to go to Las Vegas with him. Brinley and Jake meet in Vegas and instantly click.

Brinley's ex is supposed to get out of jail, but Jake doesn't want to make a move until he finds out whether Brinley will go back to her ex, who divorced her when he was convicted. With that out of the way, Jake's ex shows up and says she's pregnant…

Davis

By the end of "Jake," Davis decides to move to Elko to help his brother, Jake, with the horse training ranch. Dusty bought a horse from Tommy – a full brother to Jake's Satan but without Satan's temper. She hires Jake to train the horse, and when she shows up, she "clicks" on Davis right in front of Brinley.

Not knowing that Jake and Davis look like twins, she apologizes to Brinley for the words that come out of her mouth. Dusty and Davis click right away. But there's one problem… Dusty is married. It's up to the Reardons to figure out why she won't get a divorce when she clearly loves Davis.

Michael

Michael meets Trisha when she applies for a job at Ranger Security, a company that Jake started with Lonnie, who brought Michael and Casey in as partners. Michael, Jake and Davis decide she's perfect for the job. She moved up in the police department quickly and made detective not many years after she started.

Even though Rena divorced Michael years ago, he can't get her out of his mind. He has to deal with that and a dangerous job the Alpha Team (including Trisha) picked up. They are after a serial killer, and Trisha is a dead-ringer for the killer's victims. Can Michael get his head on straight enough to do this job without getting himself and Trisha killed?

Tommy

Superstar Tommy has a hard time meeting the perfect woman because everyone wants to go out with the big country music star. He met Carley at a bar in Elko when the family went out to enjoy a night of dancing. Little does he know, she's more than who she says she is.

CC Adams was writing a book about superstar Tommy Joe Brandon. It was just like the articles she wrote for an entertainment rag that printed anything and everything about musicians, actors, actresses and other famous people. Even worse, actually. But when a pair of baby blues catches her eye across the dance floor…

Casey

Casey works for the Elko Sheriff and falls in love with Dakota, Trisha's sister. However, Dakota works in Las Vegas. Casey was hoping that she felt the same. After suffering from a traumatic experience, Dakota flies to Elko to stay with her parents, and Casey is elated until he learns that she is going back to Vegas. Maybe the relationship wasn't what Casey thought…

Bo

The ranch expanded, and The Brothers needed additional hands to help with training the horses. When that fifth man – or who Bo and the other brothers thought was a man, turned out to be the sexiest woman he'd ever laid eyes on…
